i have a bushnell yardage pro compact 600 range finder but the problem is is that it dosent work under 20 yards my friend has a yardage pro 450 and it was cheaper and it works under 20 yards what can be the problem?

The manual will tell you the minimum and maximum ranges you can use. Your device probably has a minimum range of 25 or 30 yards.
